Hi, I’m Prerna Tongariya, and I am a Trainee Psychologist at The Therapy Park. I hold an MSc degree in Clinical Psychology from the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Along with my academic training, my own experiences of living with a visible difference have shaped the way I understand people and their struggles. They have taught me the importance of kindness, acceptance, and creating spaces where people feel safe to share their vulnerabilities without fear of judgment. This helps me connect deeply with those who may feel different or unseen, and to walk alongside them as they rediscover their sense of self-worth. My work is about creating that space: a safe, non-judgemental environment where people can embrace their truest selves without feeling the need to hide.
I am especially passionate about helping those who have felt pressured to fit into societal boxes, guiding them towards reclaiming their identities and seeing their own beauty through their own eyes. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel understood and valued.
Outside of my professional role, I turn to dancing and art as forms of catharsis- creative outlets that help me process emotions and stay connected to myself. These passions also influence how I connect with others, as I see creativity as a powerful path to healing and self-discovery.
