Akshita

Hi, I’m Akshita,  a counselling psychologist, narrative therapist, and somatic EMDR practitioner. I started The Therapy Park because I believed therapy in India could look very different from what most people experience.

My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not a destination you arrive at; it’s a path you walk, with someone beside you who actually knows the terrain. I work from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and politically aware lens, which means I bring my whole understanding of the world into the room, not just clinical training. I’m also currently training to become a certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician, because the work keeps asking me to go further.

I built The Therapy Park in 2025 as a collective, one that holds clients fully and holds practitioners too. Because I’ve seen what happens when therapists are burnt out, unsupported, and running on empty. The care suffers. The people suffer.

No one can pour from an empty cup. That’s not a wellness platitude; it’s the structural principle behind everything we do here.

“Healing is an adventure. Therapy is the space where someone walks that path beside you, with care, courage, and intention.”

Outside of sessions, I collect little stories on my skin through tattoos. I stretch on the Pilates reformer, bend and wobble through yoga, and dance, because it makes my heart feel lighter. These aren’t just hobbies. They’re how I stay tethered to my own humanity. I show up to this work not just for the people I sit with, but to stay grounded in my own purpose, in the truths that keep me anchored when the world gets loud.

I don’t believe therapists are exempt from the work. If anything, we’re more responsible for doing it. I’ve been in my own therapy. I’ve sat in that chair. I know what it takes to be witnessed, to say the hard thing out loud, to trust someone with the parts you usually keep quiet. That experience is what I bring into every session at The Therapy Park, not as a practitioner above the process, but as someone genuinely in it alongside you.
