Is Group Therapy the Right Fit ?

Group therapy isn't a lesser option. For many people, it's the more powerful one.

You Feel Isolated in What You're Going Through

You're exhausted from explaining your situation before you can even get to the actual problem. Being in a room with people who already get it changes the starting point entirely.

You Keep Having the Same Patterns in Relationships

How you show up in a group often mirrors how you show up in life. Group therapy gives you a live, guided space to notice that,  and try something different.

You Want More Than One Perspective

What worked for someone else, what didn't, what shifted for them, that kind of insight doesn't come from a single practitioner. It comes from people who've been in the same place.

You're Working Through Something Shared

Grief, burnout, identity, loss,  some things are easier to carry when you're not the only one carrying them. Group therapy puts you in the room with people who are in it too.

You Show Up. But You're Not Really There.

You're present in conversations, in rooms, in relationships. But something underneath keeps you at a distance,  from others, and sometimes from yourself.

What Makes Group Therapy at The Therapy Park Different From a Support Circle

Anyone can hold space. Not everyone is trained to hold a group. The difference shows up in how safely conflict gets handled, how patterns get named, and how the room stays therapeutic,  not just supportive.

FAQ’s

For many concerns, yes, and for some, it's more effective. The group setting adds something one-on-one work can't: real-time feedback from people dealing with similar experiences, the lived proof that others have moved through what you're in, and the opportunity to practise new ways of relating in a safe, structured space. Group therapy sessions and individual therapy work well alongside each other too, many people do both.

No. You're not put on the spot in your first session or any session. Most people come in and spend the initial group therapy session listening, getting a feel for the group, and deciding what feels safe to share. The facilitator sets clear ground rules at the start. Participation opens up naturally over time, it's never forced.

Groups at The Therapy Park are kept small, typically between 6 and 10 participants. The size is deliberate. It's large enough to bring in diverse perspectives and small enough that nobody gets lost in the room.

The clinical facilitator is bound by the same confidentiality obligations as in individual therapy. At the start of every group, participants also agree to a shared confidentiality agreement, what's said in the group stays in the group. This is a non-negotiable condition of participation, and the facilitator holds it actively throughout every session.

Yes. Online group therapy India sessions at The Therapy Park follow the same clinical structure as in-person groups, same facilitator, same ground rules, same session length. Many people find online group counseling easier to attend consistently, particularly if they're outside Kolkata or prefer the privacy of joining from their own space.

This is handled during the intake process before you join. If there's an overlap, the facilitator will place you in a group where existing social connections won't affect the group dynamic or your comfort. The goal is for the group to feel genuinely safe, not familiar in a way that creates pressure.

No. Group therapy is available as a standalone service at The Therapy Park. Some people come to group work first and move into individual therapy later. Others do both simultaneously. There's no fixed sequence, the right starting point depends on what you're working through and what feels accessible right now.

Before you join, you'll have a brief intake conversation with the facilitating clinician. This isn't an audition,  it's to understand your current situation well enough to place you in a group that fits. Groups at The Therapy Park are organised around specific themes, so you're not entering a general space. You're entering a room built for what you're already carrying.

Group therapy sessions run online across India and in-person in Kolkata. Talk to a clinician first,  find the right group, then book your place.
